Skansen Parowozownia Kościerzyna

Skansen Parowozownia Kościerzyna is a railway museum housed in a former maintenance hall that displays locomotives, railroad cars, and original workshops from different periods. The site includes several buildings and tracks where the vehicles stand in their historical setting.

The train station and roundhouse were built in 1885 during Prussian administration and marked the arrival of the first rail connection to the city. The facility became an important railway maintenance hub for the region.

The collection shows machines and equipment that shaped daily life in this region for many decades. You can see how people traveled in the past and how important the railway was for the local economy.

The museum is located near the main train station and is easy to reach on foot. You can take your time to explore the various vehicles and buildings across the grounds.

The four-position roundhouse from 1929 is one of the few surviving examples of its kind and still functions today. It shows how locomotives were once turned and maneuvered to direct them in different directions.
