St. Barbara's Church, Warsaw, Neo-Romanesque church building in Śródmieście district, Warsaw, Poland.
This Roman Catholic church features a three-nave Neo-Romanesque design capable of accommodating approximately 3,000 worshippers, significantly larger than its predecessor chapel that held only 200 people.
Originally built between 1880 and 1883 by architect Edward Cichocki, the church was almost completely destroyed during the 1944 Warsaw Uprising and reconstructed between 1946 and 1957.
Dedicated to Saint Barbara, the patroness of miners and artillery units, the church serves as a central religious and community gathering place for Warsaw residents and visitors.
Located at coordinates 52.2265°N and 21.0072°E in central Warsaw, the church is easily accessible and recognized as an immovable monument in municipal heritage registers.
The reconstructed church maintains its original pre-war exterior appearance while featuring a completely redesigned interior that reflects post-war architectural influences and restoration techniques.
