Centrum LIM, Skyscraper in Śródmieście, Poland
Centrum LIM is a 170 meter tall skyscraper with 43 floors located in Warsaw's city center. The building combines retail spaces in its lower sections with office areas in the middle levels and hotel rooms in the upper parts.
Construction started in 1987 as a joint effort between Polish Airlines LOT, German-based ILBAU GmbH, and hotel operator Marriott International. The project finished in 1989 and represented an important moment of economic opening in Poland.
The structure displays the international architectural language of the 1980s with dark green facades and illuminated white edges that distinguish it in the skyline. The design blends Polish and British approaches and shapes how this part of the city looks today.
The ground level and lower floors house Gallery LIM with around 40 shops and retail outlets for browsing. The best time to explore is early afternoon when most shops are open and the space is not overly crowded.
The building connects directly to Warsaw Central Station through an underground tunnel, allowing seamless passage without going outside. At the top sits the LIM Panorama Club, offering sweeping views across the entire city.
