Saint Michael Archangel and Assumption of Mary Basilica in Trzemeszno

The three-nave brick church features a massive central dome, with a circular nave surrounding the main section of the building.

Initially constructed in the first half of the 12th century, the church underwent Gothic modifications and received an extensive reconstruction in the 18th century.

The interior contains baroque frescoes by Franciszek Smuglewicz and holds the relics of Saint Adalbert, drawing Catholic pilgrims throughout the year.

The basilica stands at Michał Kosmowski Square and maintains regular Mass schedules, with guided tours available during designated visiting hours.

During World War II, German forces converted the church into a military warehouse and set it on fire in 1945 during their retreat.
