Zamek w Drohiczynie, Medieval castle ruins on Góra Zamkowa hill in Drohiczyn, Poland.

The castle ruins stand on a steep hill near the Bug River, with fragments of stone walls showing Gothic architectural elements.

The stronghold served as the center of Duchy of Drohiczyn in 1181 before becoming a residence for Mazovian princes during the late 12th century.

The fortress transformed from a military structure into an administrative center during the Jagiellonian dynasty, hosting court proceedings and regional governance.

Visitors can reach the castle hill from the town center, where an obelisk from 1928 commemorates Polish independence.

Archaeological excavations between 1886 and 1888 revealed underground corridors and niches beneath the castle grounds.
