Gorzanów Castle

Gorzanów Castle is a Renaissance structure with four wings enclosing an irregular courtyard at its center. The building holds roughly one hundred rooms decorated with ornate vaulted ceilings and painted walls throughout.

The castle's origins trace back before 1348, placing it among the region's medieval structures. Its current form took shape through comprehensive renovations in the mid-17th century directed by Count Johann Friedrich von Herberstein.

The castle served as a hub for artistic life in the 19th century, hosting theater performances and cultural gatherings that drew notable visitors. Its rooms reflect the tastes and interests of those who once called it home.
