Church of St. Joseph Protection in Kraków, Gothic Revival church in Podgórze district, Kraków, Poland.

The Church of St. Joseph Protection is a Gothic Revival structure made of brick that stands prominently in the Podgórze district with a distinctive tower marking the skyline. The exterior features detailed masonry and religious sculptures, while the interior is fitted with wooden altars and traditional religious furnishings.

The building was constructed between 1905 and 1909, replacing an older smaller chapel that once occupied the same location. Its construction took place during a period when the Podgórze area was expanding and required larger religious facilities.

The church serves the Podgórze community as a space for worship and religious celebrations where local customs are observed. The wooden altars and religious furnishings inside reflect traditions that have been maintained since the building opened its doors.

The church is located on Zamoyskiego Street and is easily accessible on foot from the Podgórze old town area. A small park with benches next to the building provides a comfortable spot to sit and observe the exterior if you need a rest.

The tower was originally planned to be taller, but military authorities restricted its height to prevent it from becoming a navigation reference for enemy forces. This unusual constraint shows how military considerations shaped the final design during the early 1900s.
