Lubuskie Military Museum, Military museum in Drzonów, Poland
The Lubuskie Military Museum is a military museum in the village of Drzonów, west of Zielona Góra in Poland, with a large collection of tanks, aircraft, artillery, and military equipment from different periods. The objects are displayed both inside exhibition halls and across an open-air ground where visitors can walk right alongside the vehicles and machines.
The museum was founded in 1978, at a time when systematic preservation of military material in this part of Poland was still rare. Over the years, the collection grew to include pieces from World War II and the Cold War era, which now form the core of what visitors see today.
The museum has a permanent exhibition dedicated to women in the Polish armed forces, bringing to light a part of military history that is rarely shown elsewhere. Personal objects, uniforms, and photographs give a human face to what is often told only through weapons and vehicles.
The museum sits in Drzonów, a small village west of Zielona Góra, and is most easily reached by car. Since a large part of the collection is outside, it is worth coming on a dry day and wearing comfortable shoes for walking on uneven ground.
The grounds include a dedicated section where fortification examples from Polish, Soviet, and German military traditions are placed side by side. It is rare to find three such different approaches to defensive construction so close together in one place.
