Manor in Klukowo

The Manor in Klukowo is a red brick ruin featuring a recessed portico with two Tuscan columns and baroque gables that display the construction date and initials of its builder Stanislaw Wasniewski. The remaining structures include the front entrance wall with columns, main walls, a basement access point, and fragments of the original estate gate.

The manor was built in 1923 and originally included agricultural buildings, a park with chestnut trees, and provided work for many local families until 1944. A fire in 1990 destroyed the wooden roof and ceilings, leaving only charred walls and transforming the structure into its current ruined state.

This manor exemplifies traditional Polish dworek design with its two-tract layout and baroque ornamental details. The red brick structure and its columned portico remain recognizable features of the rural architectural heritage in this part of Poland.

The site is accessible for visiting, allowing exploration of the walls and grounds while viewing the burnt structures from the outside. Bringing a flashlight is useful for examining dark interior spaces, especially during wet weather or when daylight is dim.

Since the 1990 fire, visitors have reported seeing lights appearing among the ruined walls at dusk, sparking local stories and curiosity about the abandoned building. These unexplained observations have added a folkloric dimension to the property in local memory and imagination.
