Sieradzki Park Etnograficzny, Open-air ethnographic museum in Sieradz, Poland.
Sieradzki Park Etnograficzny is an open-air museum in Sieradz displaying traditional rural buildings from different periods. The collection includes a 19th-century weaver's house, farmsteads, barns, agricultural structures, and several other historic dwellings moved to the grounds.
The museum was founded in 1975, beginning with the reconstruction of a weaver's house from Zgierz street under director Zofia Neymanowa's leadership. Additional traditional buildings from the region were subsequently added to preserve the rural heritage of central Poland.
The park displays the workshop of folk sculptor Szczepan Mucha with his creations from the 1970s and 1980s, housed within a preserved farmstead setting. Visitors can observe how traditional craftsmanship was practiced in an authentic rural environment.
The park is easily explored on foot with ample space between buildings for walking. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and exercise caution during wet weather, as paths run over natural ground surfaces.
The museum preserves a wooden storage structure called kumora from 1810 originating from Braszewice Zabrodzia, displaying the regional approach to agricultural storage. This rare construction offers direct insight into rural storage techniques from two centuries ago.
