Summer Garden in Kronstadt

The Summer Garden in Kronstadt is a public park spreading across approximately 13 hectares along Petrovskaya Street. The space features long tree-lined alleys with lime trees, flower beds, and ornamental sculptures positioned throughout.

Peter the Great founded this garden in 1711 as one of the first public spaces in Kronstadt. The project marked the city's early urban development and helped shape the character of the newly established fortress city.

The garden holds monuments dedicated to notable naval figures, creating spaces where visitors pause to learn about their legacies. These memorials reflect how the community honors those connected to the city's maritime past.

The garden is open daily and free to enter, making it easy to visit at any time. Expect brief closures in spring when ground maintenance and path restoration work takes place.

An ornate cast iron fence with detailed patterns has surrounded the garden since 1873. This fence replaced the earlier wooden barrier and reflects the craftsmanship typical of that era.
