Hôtel particulier Kiriakov, Federal cultural heritage estate in Tverskoy District, Moscow, Russia
Hôtel particulier Kiriakov is a neoclassical mansion with symmetrical facades and ornamental cornices located on Petrovka Street. The building features a central columned entrance and reflects the refined architectural style of late 18th-century Moscow estates.
Textile manufacturer Grigori Kiriakov commissioned this mansion after 1781 based on designs by architect Matvei Kazakov. The property later passed to Pavel Karabanov, who transformed it into a gathering place for scholars and collectors.
The mansion once housed an important collection of antiquities that drew scholars and connoisseurs to its rooms. The elegant interiors reflect how wealthy Moscow merchants lived and entertained during the 1800s.
The mansion is open to visitors twice yearly during international heritage preservation days with guided tours available. Visiting during these events allows access to the historical interiors and a detailed look at the architectural features.
The building housed Moscow's first dental school in 1892, marking an important moment in medical education. Today it serves as an office for government departments focused on cybercrime investigation and prevention.
