Abago

Abago is a summit in the Western Caucasus located within Adygea and reaches an elevation offering panoramic views of surrounding mountain ranges and valleys. The peak sits within a protected reserve surrounded by dense forests at lower elevations and open alpine meadows near the top.

The mountain became part of the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve, which received UNESCO World Heritage recognition for its natural conservation status. This designation has helped protect the region's diverse habitats and wildlife for future generations.

The mountain holds different names across languages, including Gora Abago in Russian and ӀаьбаьгӀуо in Circassian, reflecting the multicultural heritage of the region.

Visitors can access the mountain through marked trails that run through the protected reserve and suit various fitness levels. Weather conditions at higher elevations change rapidly, so proper clothing and gear are important for any visit to the peak.
