The monument marks the location of the Battle on the Ice in 1242, where Russian forces under Alexander Nevsky defeated the Teutonic Knights on Lake Peipus.
The bronze figures carry banners with religious symbols, including the main flag displaying the image of Christ Not Made by Human Hands.
The memorial complex, inaugurated in September 2021, stands on the shore of Lake Peipus in the Gdovsky district of Pskov Oblast.
The monument includes fallen enemy armor beneath the warriors' feet and incorporates detailed mosaic work created by distinguished Russian artists.
