Лесной парк «Дружба», Protected forest park in Vladimir Oblast, Russia
Druzhba Forest Park is a protected green area of approximately 262 hectares located on the southwestern outskirts of Vladimir, situated between the M-7 Volga federal highway and the Gorky railway line. The terrain is characterized by dense forest growth with distinct zones designed for various activities.
This forest area originates from the ancient Yamsky Forest, which once extended from the Sosenki Grove to the mouth of the Koloksha River. The park today represents the remaining traces of this historical woodland landscape.
The park hosts cross-country skiing competitions held throughout winter in memory of Olympic champion Alexey Prokurorov. These events draw athletes and spectators who come to honor the legacy of this celebrated sportsman.
The park features designated zones for sports activities including workout areas, football fields, volleyball courts, and illuminated ski trails during winter. Visitors should plan their visit based on the season, as ground conditions and activity availability vary throughout the year.
The forest is home to moose, red foxes, hares, and various bird species including buzzards, goshawks, and woodcocks living in their natural surroundings. Encountering this wildlife in their natural state offers visitors an unexpected window into the region's living ecosystem.
