Outbuilding of the town estate of Savva Mamontov

This outbuilding is a brick structure on Sadovaya-Spasskaya Street featuring decorative majolica elements and ornamental details. The stonework and carved embellishments reflect the artistic approach applied to this secondary residence structure.

The property was originally established as a court official's residence in 1816. The outbuilding later became part of an artist's estate during the 19th century.

The estate functioned as a meeting place for Russian artists, musicians, and intellectuals, including notable figures like Feodor Chaliapin and Sergei Rachmaninoff.

The building sits in a central residential area and is visible from the street with its distinctive decorative features. Visitors can view the exterior details from the public thoroughfare to appreciate the architectural craftsmanship.

Two original majolica fireplaces created specifically for this outbuilding are now housed in a museum collection away from the site. These ceramic pieces demonstrate the artistic quality that defined the space when it was in active use.
