Torps säteri, Manor house in Nyköping Municipality, Sweden
Torps säteri is a manor estate with two wings dating to the 1750s, one functioning as the main residence near the Torpfjärden waters. The complex also includes a granary building that was adapted from an earlier structure during the 1800s.
The estate was established in 1574 by Jöran Johansson, governor of Nyköping Castle, and subsequently came under the control of the Rosenhane family. The current structures were built in the mid-1700s and have defined the property's appearance since that period.
The manor carries the legacy of the Rosenhane family, who shaped its character over generations and left their mark through architectural choices. Visitors can experience this connection to local heritage through how the restored buildings serve the community today.
The site currently functions as an event venue available for conferences, celebrations, and private gatherings. Visitors should check ahead to confirm access, as the property may be in use for private functions on certain days.
In 1782, Fredrik Bengt Rosenhane departed the estate following a personal tragedy and relocated to his other property at Tistad. This sudden departure marked a turning point in the management and use of the site that followed.
