Näsbyholms säteri, Manor house in Skurup, Sweden
Näsbyholms säteri is a manor house featuring white plastered walls and pyramid-shaped roofs, with two detached wing buildings positioned on either side. The layout creates a symmetrical composition typical of Swedish estate architecture from the mid-20th century.
An original fortified castle from the 14th century stood on this site until its demolition in 1865, and following a fire in 1955, the current manor house was rebuilt in 1957. This rebuilding reflects how the estate adapted and continued its role across centuries.
The estate gained recognition as the birthplace of twin brothers Bror and Hans von Blixen-Finecke, who became notable figures in hunting and equestrian pursuits.
An eastern wing addition was completed in 1994, and a solar energy park was installed on the grounds in January 2022. These expansions mean the estate now combines historic architecture with modern renewable energy installations.
Located roughly 400 meters northeast of the main building, the Göksten runestone is a Viking Age monument of archaeological importance. This artifact reveals the ancient layers of habitation that lie beneath the estate grounds.
