Sidensvansen 7

Sidensvansen 7 is a two-story residential building in Östermalm with a prominent gable front and red brick exterior. The facade features decorative wrought iron railings and architectural details typical of early 1900s Swedish residential design.

Construction occurred between 1914 and 1916 based on designs created for an insurance director. Decades later, it served as an embassy residence, which shaped its use and significance in Swedish diplomatic history during much of the Cold War era.

The building is part of the Lärkstaden residential community and reflects a lifestyle that drew businesspeople and professionals to this neighborhood. Its red brick design became emblematic of how affluent Stockholm residents shaped their domestic spaces during the early 1900s.
