The Church of the St. Cross features pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and detailed stonework that characterizes the Gothic architectural style of medieval Europe.
Construction of the current structure started in 1702, following designs inspired by the Church of the Gesù in Rome, with interruptions during anti-Habsburg troops occupation.
The Church of the St. Cross holds protected monument status and serves as an active Roman Catholic place of worship in the Diocese of Banská Bystrica.
The interior of the church displays religious artifacts and architectural elements, while the exterior underwent substantial renovations completed in 1999.
Two onion-shaped towers, added during the 1844 renovation, distinguish this Gothic church from other religious structures in the region.
