Sunset Park, La Libertad, amusement park in El Salvador
Sunset Park is an amusement park in Puerto de La Libertad, on the Pacific coast of El Salvador. It sits right next to the sea and offers five rides: a Ferris wheel, a roller coaster, a carousel, a frog drop tower, and a pirate ship.
The park opened in 2022 as the first of its kind along the La Libertad coast. It was built as part of the Surf City project, a government plan to develop coastal tourism in the country.
The park is open Thursday through Sunday from the afternoon onward and is easy to find within the Puerto de La Libertad Tourist Complex. Arriving in the late afternoon is a good idea, since the sea breeze picks up and the evening light over the water makes the visit more enjoyable.
The five rides in the park were donated by China, which is uncommon for a small coastal amusement park in Latin America. The Ferris wheel offers one of the few open views over the Pacific in the whole area.
