Wat Chuan Damrong Ratchaphonlakhan

Wat Chuan Damrong Ratchaphonlakhan, Buddhist temple in Talat, Thailand.

Wat Chuan Damrong Ratchaphonlakhan is a Buddhist temple in Talat featuring traditional Thai architecture with 37 spires stacked in layers to create a distinctive tower-like form. The structure shows characteristic Thai design elements combined in this unusual vertical arrangement.

Construction began in 1846 under King Rama III's orders as a memorial to Princess Somanass Waddhanawathy. The project remained unfinished for many decades until completion in 2007.

This place functions as an active center for Buddhist worship where daily ceremonies bring monks and community members together. The spiritual activities shape how people use and experience this sacred space throughout the day.

The temple is located at the intersection of Ratchadamnoen Klang and Maha Chai Road and welcomes visitors. An entrance fee helps support the ongoing maintenance of the site.

This is the last remaining example of Loha Prasat architecture, a rare building style that few visitors know about. The 37 spires correspond to 37 spiritual principles in Buddhist philosophy.
