Gürlevik Waterfalls, Natural waterfall near Erzincan, Turkey
The water cascades down from a travertine platform creating multiple streams that flow irregularly through the rocky formations of eastern Turkey.
The State Hydraulic Works constructed a hydroelectric power plant at the lower section of the falls between 1950 and 1953 with 3,040 KW capacity.
The waterfall represents the natural heritage of the Erzincan region, where water resources play a central role in local development.
Located 29 kilometers southeast of Erzincan, visitors can reach the falls through rural roads that lead to the natural observation points.
The hydroelectric facility expanded in 1965 with a third generating unit, increasing the water processing capacity to 3,866 liters per second.
