St. Hedwig's Roman Catholic Church

St. Hedwig's is a gray brick church with two tall spires topped by crosses rising 80 feet above the structure. The front entrance features three pairs of doors that lead into the main worship space.

Polish immigrants founded the congregation in 1887 through St. Joseph's Society as their religious community grew. The building was completed in 1904 to serve the expanding Polish population in the city.

The parish keeps Polish traditions alive through regular masses in Polish. Visitors can experience how the community celebrates its heritage through annual festivals that bring people together around shared cultural roots.

Masses are offered in English and Polish on weekends, with additional services available during the week. The front entrance with its three doorways makes it easy to find your way in and navigate the worship space.

The Felician Sisters ran the parish school in the early 1900s and educated hundreds of children from the community. Their work was central to helping Polish families establish themselves and preserve their faith in their new home.
