Turtle Rock Light, Navigation lighthouse in Boathouse Row, Philadelphia, United States
The hexagonal brick tower with a white balcony and red exterior rises 30 feet above the eastern bank of the Schuylkill River.
Frank Thurwanger constructed the lighthouse in 1887 at a cost of $2,663 to guide steamboats navigating the Schuylkill River near Fairmount Hill.
The Sedgeley Club, which operates the lighthouse since 1902, transformed from an athletic facility into a social organization hosting private events.
The lighthouse stands at Kelly Drive, Boathouse #15, and maintains an active navigation aid with an electrical beacon installed during the 1990 renovation.
The structure incorporates Colonial Revival architecture elements with a hexagonal lantern room and an octagonal walkway around the light chamber.
