The Magic House, St. Louis Children's Museum

The Magic House spans 55,000 square feet of exhibition space with multiple floors containing hands-on learning stations for children to explore science and creativity.

Founded in 1979 by Jody Newman and Barbie Freund, the museum occupies a Victorian mansion built in 1901 for George Lane Edwards, first president of St. Louis Stock Exchange.

Each year the museum implements educational programs reaching over 50,000 students through field trips and provides resources to schools, libraries, and hospitals across St. Louis.

Located at 516 South Kirkwood Road, the museum receives 500,000 visitors annually and maintains a cafe serving nutritious meals for families during their visit.

The Electrostatic Generator exhibit allows children to make their hair stand up while learning about electrical principles through direct physical experience.
