Liberty Tower, Downtown skyscraper in South Bend, Indiana, United States
Liberty Tower is a modern downtown skyscraper in South Bend with 25 floors and a concrete exterior displaying white, gray, and dark teal colors. The structure houses parking facilities in its lower levels and an Aloft Hotel that occupies most of the upper floors.
The building opened in 1970 as American National Bank Building, replacing the former Oliver Hotel that was demolished in 1967. This new structure marked a shift in the city's skyline following the removal of the older hotel.
The Summit Club on the top floor served as a social gathering space for local professionals and visitors until its closure in 2012.
The building is easy to spot thanks to its distinctive color combination and downtown location. Hotel guests can find ample parking within the structure itself.
The building underwent major renovation in 2015 following a significant water leak that forced temporary evacuation of all occupants. This work brought extensive modernization upgrades to the structure.
