Kapellenfriedhof, Historic cemetery and park in Bad Kissingen, Germany
The Kapellenfriedhof extends next to the Marienkapelle chapel, featuring numerous historical graves, memorial monuments, and landscaped garden areas.
The cemetery dates back to 1348 during a plague outbreak, and later became a battlefield during the Austro-Prussian War in 1866.
The cemetery contains graves of physicians, hoteliers, and notable figures who shaped the development of Bad Kissingen as a spa destination.
Since 1980, the cemetery functions as a public park, maintained with minimal intervention to preserve its historical character and natural evolution.
A memorial column topped with a Bavarian helmet and sword marks the graves of 151 soldiers who died during the Battle of Kissingen.
