The church complex, dating from 1357, served as both a religious center and a fortress, with the tower's lower levels originating from the Romanesque period.
The interior displays remarkable Baroque alterations from the 17th and 18th centuries, including a pulpit from 1680 and side altars from 1732.
The church opens daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM during summer months and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM in winter, with guided tours available upon request.
This structure stands as the largest fortified church in the Diocese of Eichstätt, with preserved shooting holes and defense passages visible near the onion-domed tower.
