St. Monika, Catholic church in Ingolstadt, Germany
St. Monika is a Catholic church in Ingolstadt featuring a square main hall constructed with exposed brick and topped by a wooden roof structure. The interior is defined by a semi-circular apse that frames the altar area.
The cornerstone was laid on June 29, 1985, by Domkapitular Alois Brandl, and the consecration took place on October 18, 1986. The building was completed and made ready for use within about a year.
The church complex includes a bell tower with two bells cast by Karlsruhe Bell and Art Foundry in 1986, tuned to d2 and f2 notes.
The interior accommodates about 100 visitors and is straightforward in layout. Access and facilities are designed to allow easy use for services and visits.
The altar and liturgical furnishings were designed by Blasius Gerg, while Wilhelm Reissmüller created the processional cross. The craftsmanship of these elements remains visible in the interior.
