Bishop Hannington Memorial Church

Bishop Hannington Memorial Church is an Anglican church in West Blatchington with a distinctive tall bell tower positioned at the northeast corner and brown brick walls. The roof features pantiles while the western entrance displays decorative brickwork and a prominent pointed arch.

The building was constructed between 1938 and 1939 to honor James Hannington, the first Bishop of East Equatorial Africa who was killed in Uganda in 1885. This construction occurred during the interwar period, a time when missionary work held particular meaning in the Anglican community.
