Firle Hill Climb, Hill climbing motorsport course near Lewes, United Kingdom.
Firle Hill Climb was a motorsport racing course on a roughly 600 yard stretch of road called Bo-Peep Hill near Selmeston off the A27 in Sussex. The course used the natural hillside terrain and presented drivers with specific handling challenges due to the uneven road surface.
The course opened as a motorsport racing venue and operated through the 1960s before permanent closure in 1967. David Good set the final track record that year, marking the end of its competitive racing period.
The Bentley Drivers Club selected Firle as their racing venue, with W.O. Bentley attending the 1951 event, reflecting British motorsport traditions.
Visitors today find only the road itself remaining, as the location is now part of British motorsport history. Bo-Peep Hill remains a public road and can be viewed, though there are no visitor facilities or information centers at the site.
Patsy Burt was one of few women racing in the 1960s and set an absolute record of 24.45 seconds on the course. Her participation shows that women were active in British motorsport during this era, even when such involvement was uncommon.
