St Sarkis, Kensington, Armenian church in Iverna Gardens, Kensington, London, England

St Sarkis Church features three distinct levels with a Greek cross plan and exterior walls constructed from Portland stone in traditional Armenian style.

The church was built between 1922 and 1923 with funding from Calouste Gulbenkian, who dedicated the structure to his parents Sarkis and Takouhi.

The interior contains an altarpiece displaying the Virgin and Child painting with gilded relief carvings created by the Bromsgrove Guild of Applied Arts.

The Grade II* listed religious building stands at coordinates 51.4996, -0.19365, within the residential area of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

This building represents the only example of traditional Armenian church architecture in England, drawing inspiration from the Haghpat Monastery bell tower.
