Church of St Mary and Attached Presbytery, Neoclassical Roman Catholic church in Walsall, England
The Church of St Mary features a balanced rectangular layout with a segmental coffered ceiling, supported by columns and illuminated through high side windows.
The church construction began in 1825 under architect Joseph Ireland, marking an early revival of Catholic architecture in the West Midlands after centuries of restriction.
The interior walls display paintings of Evangelists, plaster relief of the Crucifixion, and decorative tiles complemented by Hardman stained glass windows from 1909.
The church holds Sunday Mass services at 9am and 11am, with Saturday Vigil Mass at 5:30pm and confessions scheduled twice weekly for community members.
The sanctuary features four fluted Ionic half-columns along the east wall, which contains no windows but presents rich decorative elements and stylized foliage patterns.
