Bourne Park House

Bourne Park House, Grade I listed house in Bishopsbourne, England.

Bourne Park House is a two-story brick mansion with a symmetrical façade constructed in red stone. The building features a hipped roof with wooden cornices and displays a series of windows along with dormer openings.

The mansion was built in 1701 on land where an earlier property belonging to the Bourne family once stood. Elizabeth Aucher commissioned the new construction to create an expansive country estate.

The house displays domestic architecture from the 1700s that visitors can observe while walking through. The preserved staircases, wall panels, and ceiling details give a sense of how wealthy households were arranged and decorated during that era.

The building sits in a rural setting and is best explored on foot to appreciate its design and surroundings. As it remains a private residence, visitors should check in advance whether tours or visits are available.

Between the 1760s and 1790s, the grounds hosted a cricket field called Bourne Paddock where numerous important matches took place. This sporting venue made the property a notable center for cricket in the region during that period.
