Flower Trail

The Flower Trail is a via ferrata route in the Adamello Mountains that ascends rocky ridges at high altitude, equipped with metal cables, suspended bridges, and wooden walkways across steep sections. The path connects several preserved structures and offers climbers a technically demanding experience in an alpine setting.

During World War I, Italian forces built this route to link artillery positions and defensive installations along the mountain ridges. The construction demonstrates the military engineering expertise required to operate in one of the harshest alpine regions.

The trail incorporates multiple preserved military structures, including tunnels, observation posts, and an eagle's nest position offering views of surrounding glaciers.

Visitors need complete via ferrata equipment including harness, helmet, and specialized gear plus high-altitude climbing experience. It is wise to check weather conditions and difficulty ratings before starting, as safety in this terrain is essential.

A 75-meter metal bridge crosses the Casamadre Gendarme and ranks among the longest suspended structures in Italian military heritage. This dramatic crossing makes the technical achievement of the builders during wartime particularly tangible.
