Hitchin Town Hall, Grade II listed town hall and movie theater in Hitchin, England.
The Neo-Georgian red brick building on Brand Street features a symmetrical seven-bay facade with stone dressings and a central arched doorway displaying the town's coat of arms.
Constructed between 1900 and 1901 by architects Edward Mountford and Thomas Lucas, the building replaced an earlier Italianate structure from 1840 that proved insufficient for the growing population.
The venue serves as both a municipal facility and entertainment center, offering spaces for theater productions, concerts, conferences, weddings, and community gatherings throughout the year.
The facility includes multiple rental spaces such as Mountford Hall, Lucas Room, and Terrace Gallery, complete with audio-visual equipment and catering services for various events.
In 2019, a £6 million renovation project integrated the North Hertfordshire Museum into the building, adding a modern glass and steel extension to the historic structure.
