Most kolejowy w Jastrowiu, Railway bridge remnants in Jastrowie, Poland.
The railway bridge in Jastrowie is a steel structure with two parallel lattice frameworks spanning 60 meters across the Gwda River with a width of 4 meters. The construction uses two side girders that support the bridge deck above the water.
Construction was completed in 1914 as part of the Prussian rail network crossing the Gwda. In 1945 German forces detonated explosives here during their retreat, causing significant damage to the structure.
The iron structure shows the industrial methods that shaped the region in the early 1900s and remains a visible reminder of that period. Walking near it, you can see how the old railway line left its mark on the landscape along the river.
The bridge is reachable from a small parking area on the right bank of the river, where the old railway embankment is still visible. It is best explored on foot, and care should be taken near the water and uneven ground.
The bridge stood after the war even though the tracks were removed because dismantling would have been difficult and costly. The steel structure has remained visible ever since, displaying marks from the wartime damage.
