Three Sisters, Monument at Belarus Russia Ukraine tripoint.
Three Sisters is a monument at the tripoint between Belarus, Russia and Ukraine near Dobruš and Horodnia. Three white pylons carry the national coats of arms and stand around a central bronze ring with reliefs.
Architect Leonid Stukachyov designed the structure, which was inaugurated on May 3, 1975. The installation took place in the years after the Second World War as a sign of cooperation and neighborliness.
The name refers to the historical connection between the three neighboring countries and their common roots in East Slavic history. Visitors find inscriptions and symbols on site that point to peaceful relations between the peoples.
The location lies about half a kilometer north of the Senkivka vehicle border crossing. Anyone wishing to visit the monument should check the current entry requirements for the three countries and allow sufficient time for border controls.
The site marks one of the few places worldwide where three countries meet and have erected a joint structure. The combination of concrete, granite and bronze was intended to symbolize permanence and dignity.
