North Devon Crematorium, Crematorium in Barnstaple, England.
North Devon Crematorium is a facility for cremation services located in Barnstaple with two chapels named Rowan and Aspen situated within landscaped memorial gardens. The grounds provide areas for ash interment and parking for around 130 vehicles.
The original Aspen chapel was built in 1966 for the Joint Committee of North Devon and Torridge District Councils and represented the final crematorium design by architect Harold R W Orr. A second chapel was added later to expand the facility's capacity.
The facility provides memorial services with digital music capabilities, video tributes, and international webcasting options to accommodate different ceremonial preferences.
Services are scheduled in 40-minute time slots, and visitors can arrange for extended sessions by booking consecutive time periods if needed. The office is open on weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm.
The Rowan chapel was completed in 2016 and stands as the largest crematorium chapel in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland with seating for 250 people. This exceptional capacity allows the facility to accommodate large gatherings of mourners.
