College of Air Traffic Control

The College of Air Traffic Control is a training facility in Solent Business Park equipped with specialized simulator rooms and advanced training technology for prospective air traffic controllers. The facility provides comprehensive instruction in the theoretical and practical skills needed to manage aircraft movements and ensure aviation safety.

The facility was established in 1949 in Dorset and later relocated to Hampshire, where it operates today. The move to the current modern building took place in 2011 and marked a significant expansion of its training infrastructure.

The College maintains high educational standards by requiring five GCSEs at grades 9 to 4, including English and Mathematics, for entry-level apprenticeship programs.

Visitors should know that this is a specialized training facility with restricted access usually limited to students and staff. Public tours are not routinely available, but the institution occasionally hosts open events for those interested in the field.
