The College of Air Traffic Control operates from a 43,000-square-foot building equipped with six simulator rooms and advanced training technology for future controllers.
The institution started in 1949 as the School of Air Traffic Control in Dorset before relocating to Hampshire in 2011 with a £10 million investment.
The College maintains high educational standards by requiring five GCSEs at grades 9 to 4, including English and Mathematics, for entry-level apprenticeship programs.
Students undergo between 12 to 18 months of theoretical and practical training before gaining hands-on experience at airports or control centers.
Since 2015, all Norwegian air traffic controllers employed by Avinor receive their training at this British facility, highlighting its international recognition.
