Waterloo Park, Grade II* listed park in Norwich, United Kingdom
Waterloo Park is a protected public space in Norwich featuring a Moderne pavilion, bandstand, sports facilities, and large children's play areas spread across about 18 acres. The park offers different zones for playing, training, and relaxing on one continuous piece of land for visitors of all ages.
The site opened in 1904 as Catton Recreation Ground and was completely redesigned by Captain Arnold Sandys-Winsch, reopening in 1933 with a fresh appearance. This redesign brought the current layout and buildings that visitors see today.
The central pavilion serves as a meeting place for the community, offering a café and hosting local events throughout the year. Many people gather here to connect and spend time with neighbors.
The site has free parking and is accessible by two bus routes that run directly from Norwich city center. Visitors should check the exact bus stops before their visit.
The park features one of the longest herbaceous borders found in any public space across the United Kingdom. This flower-rich boundary zone surprises visitors with its abundance of seasonal colors and plant varieties throughout the year.
