Chatelherault Country Park, Country park in South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

Chatelherault Country Park is a large estate in South Lanarkshire with woodland, open meadows and walking trails along a river. The site covers roughly 500 acres and offers routes through varied terrain, from dense tree cover to rolling grassland.

The original hunting lodge was built in the 1730s as part of a ducal estate and served as a base for entertainments during the hunting season. By the twentieth century the building had fallen into ruin before being restored in the 1990s and opened to the public.

The estate takes its name from a French town linked to a royal Scottish marriage. Visitors today can explore a restored eighteenth-century hunting lodge designed by one of Scotland's leading architects of the period.

A visitor center offers refreshments, a shop and information about the marked trails suitable for different walking distances. Families will find a playground and several picnic spots scattered across different parts of the grounds.

The grassland supports a small herd of white long-horned cattle believed to descend from medieval wild stock. These rare animals come from centuries-old bloodlines and are seldom seen elsewhere in Scotland.
