The Neoclassical structure features rendered brick walls, an arcade of four blank arches on both sides, and a wooden pulpit supported by cast iron pillars.
The congregation, founded in 1858, initially met at a music hall and the Swan Hotel before establishing their permanent location in 1868 through John Bowring's efforts.
The church welcomes individuals from various backgrounds to explore their beliefs, drawing inspiration from nature, art, science, and different religious traditions.
The building maintains regular worship services, educational programs, and community gatherings while serving as a mission station for Northiam Unitarian Chapel.
The church houses a Snetzler organ from 1760, which traveled through three different Unitarian churches before its installation in Hastings during 1930.
