Church of St Chad, Pleasley Vale

The Church of St Chad stands with stone walls, pointed arches, and a bell tower topped with lead roofing in the English Gothic style.

Joseph Paget established the church in 1876 for his household and mill workers, later rebuilding it in Nottinghamshire with brick and stone materials.

The church maintains regular Anglican services within the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham, continuing centuries-old religious traditions in the community.

Visitors can find the church at coordinates 53.180232, -1.212956 on Church Lane, with an 1880 Lloyd & Co organ inside the building.

The structure was initially constructed of timber on the Derbyshire side before being dismantled and rebuilt across the River Meden in Nottinghamshire.
