The church features a continuous pitched roof covering both the nave and chancel, with north and south aisles forming its main structure.
The original 1877 Gothic Revival church by G G Scott sustained severe damage during World War II and was replaced by Ralph Covell's design in 1956.
The church maintains Anglo-Catholic traditions with daily Mass celebrations and houses multiple organs, including a 67-stop Hauptwerk installation from 2018.
Located near Oval Cricket Ground between Kennington and Oval tube stations, the church includes a hall with kitchen facilities for community activities.
The building incorporates a triptych reredos by Temple Moore, transferred from the original church, which draws inspiration from German religious art.
