Бабіш-Молда

Babish-Molda is an ancient fortified complex in Uzbekistan featuring thick defensive walls of baked brick surrounding a central area. The site contains multiple chambers and palace structures that have been uncovered through excavation.

The complex dates to between the 4th and 2nd centuries BCE and was built along the Syr Darya River. Archaeological excavations during the 1950s revealed the remains of this ancient settlement.

The site features a square burial complex measuring 21 by 21 meters, consisting of four interconnected chambers covered by a central dome.

The site sits along the historic Syr Darya River, making it interesting from a geographical perspective. Visitors should expect an open archaeological landscape where original structures remain visible in their original locations.

The complex combines different construction techniques: baked brick and pakhsa were both used in its structures. This mixture of materials reveals the building traditions of that era.
