Plymouth Church stands at the intersection of 42nd Street and Ingersoll Avenue, featuring a square English Gothic tower rising 82 feet in brick and limestone.

The congregation formed in 1857 with eleven founding members who signed the Articles of Government and Faith of the Congregational Churches in Des Moines.

The church maintains the largest pipe organ in Iowa, supporting multiple choirs and hosting regular concerts that connect the musical arts with community engagement.

Services occur on Saturday at 5 p.m. in Waveland Hall and Sundays at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary, with parking available in a two-level garage.

The church building contributes to the Greenwood Park Plats Historic District and received National Register of Historic Places recognition in 2013.
