Bec de l'Échaillon, Viewpoint and summit in Veurey-Voroize, France.

The Bec de l'Échaillon rises to 619 meters in altitude, forming a rocky promontory that marks the northern boundary of the Vercors massif.

The quarries of this site provided stones used in the construction of the Alexandre III Bridge and parts of the Paris Opera House facade.

The sulfurous thermal springs at the foot of Bec de l'Échaillon drew numerous visitors in the 19th century for their medicinal benefits.

The main hiking trail starts from Veurey-Voroize and climbs to the viewpoint, offering free access year-round depending on weather conditions.

An ancient path near the site connects to a Roman road on the Saint-Ours plateau, where sections of original paving still remain.
