The lake lies within Jiuzhaigou Valley, which has been a national park since 1982 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992.
Five Flowers Lake is considered sacred by the local Tibetan and Qiang peoples.
Best visited during autumn for its vibrant colors, the lake is accessible via boardwalks.
Containing various tree trunks lying at the bottom, the lake never dries.
